AIRTABLE AUTOMATIONS ARE A GAME-CHANGER

In the fall of 2020 Airtable added a new feature, Automations, allowing users to create custom trigger-action workflows. Automations makes it easy to automate repetitive tasks, improve team communication, and reduce the overall margin of error.

An automation consists of a trigger followed by one or more actions. 

Triggers include:

  • When a record matches a condition

  • When a record is created

  • When a record is updated

  • When a record enters a view

Actions include:

  • Send an email

  • Create record

  • Update record

  • Send a Slack message

  • Send a Microsoft Teams message

  • G Suite actions

  • Create post action for Facebook Pages

  • Create Twitter tweet

Current limits

You can add up to 25 automations to a base, and create up to 25 actions in one automation. Where applicable, an action can use outputs from previous actions in the same automation.
